We have had several comments regarding the e-mail newsletter and design, these have been all positive which is great, it really is great to have a system that is easy to use, cost effective and and provides a good statistical analysis for us to monitor how effective each newsletter is.
Harlyn Surf School aims to be at the forefront of the surf industry, offering the very best customer service and the highest possible level of surf and water sport tuition.
It's been great to see this company really take email marketing to heart.
The challenge
I was already using email, but was looking for a more cost effective and flexible solution as I run a small business and don’t always have the time and resources available to send a campaign.
The Harlyn website was pretty popular and I was getting people sign up to the newsletter on a fairly regular basis, I realised that I needed to capitalise on this interest but didn’t want to spend hours at a computer writing and sending the newsletters.
The MailAway solution
When I first started working with MailAway they made sure that my email template fitted perfectly with my website and reflected the Harlyn Surf School identity. I was given great advice about how to build up my database and manage my email campaigns.
Anna was great at helping me when I needed support and suggesting new ideas, and using the pay as you go service works really well for small businesses like mine. I have total control over what and when I send, but with Anna as a comfort blanket!
The outcome
My email newsletters are proving to be really popular and the average open rate above 20%. The template that has been created for me is so easy to use that creating the newsletter doesn’t take up too much of my time and the results mean more customers – so more time in the water!
The MailAway system also allowed me to set up an online survey, it was really successful with 40% of people completing it. The results of the survey helped me to make decisions about my businesses going forward and make sure I’m meeting the needs of my customers.
Anna also pointed me in the direct of mobile marketing and explained how the two work really well together. I’m really looking forward to what lies ahead for Harlyn Surf School and know that email is a key part of the puzzle in building the business.
